Alan is Regional Managing Partner for MNP’s BC Advisory practice and a Partner in MNP’s Enterprise Risk Services practice.  Based in the Vancouver office, Alan provides risk management, consulting, Internal Audit and assurance services to private and public organizations. Alan has extensive knowledge and experience in the areas of Enterprise Risk Services, Internal Audit, and Business Consulting.  Prior to joining MNP, Alan was the Internal Audit Practice Leader at a boutique consulting firm that specialized in the provision of outsourced Internal Audit services to Credit Unions across Canada.  As part of his role, Alan was the outsourced Director of Internal Audit for 10 BC financial institutions with responsibility for the development of annual risk based Internal Audit plans, execution of plans and quarterly audit committee reporting. Alan is a risk management expert and has overseen and led numerous credit and AML compliance reviews throughout his career for MSB’s and Financial Institutions across BC.

Some of the financial institutions Alan has worked with include: BlueShore Financial, Bank of Montreal, Central 1 Credit Union, Community Savings Credit Union, CTBC Bank Corp (Canada), Creston & District Credit Union, First Credit Union, First West Credit Union, HSBC Bank Bermuda, HSBC Bank Canada G&F Financial Group, Integris Credit Union, Northern Savings Credit Union, Peoples Trust, Stabilization Central Credit Union and Vancity.



Chris Galloway

Chris Galloway is a well renowned Financial Crime and Anti-Money Laundering regulations SME having previously worked in the global financial services sector for over twenty years. He has held banking and compliance roles for a number of large multi-national banking corporations in the UK, USA, Netherlands and New Zealand before he moved to Canada in 2007. Prior to working with MNP, Chris was the head of the Compliance and Operational Risk Department at Central 1 Credit Union, the primary liquidity manager and payments provider for credit unions across Canada, and was responsible for managing Central 1’s Anti-Money Laundering Compliance Framework. Chris also managed Central 1’s relationship with the Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Centre of Canada (FINTRAC) and he was chosen as to represent the credit union system and worked with the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) on their mutual evaluation of Canada in 2015.

Chris has presented at multiple compliance and risk conferences across North America, including in Miami and Las Vegas at the globally renowned financial crime conferences held by the Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists (ACAMS). He is a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist, a Certified Fraud Examiner and he recently obtained his MBA from the Sobey School of Business in Halifax, Canada in 2017.

Danesh Mavalvala

Danesh is the Director of Internal Audit at Vancity. In his role, he committed to helping boards and executives strengthen their organization’s governance, internal controls, and risk management practices. Danesh’s professional career is concentrated in the financial services sector where he has led several risk management and regulatory compliance reviews.

Prior to joining Vancity, Danesh worked at Coast Capital’s Internal Audit function, and was a part of the team that was instrumental in supporting the credit union’s federal continuance journey. Previously, Danesh has also held senior leadership roles in the Risk Advisory division of one of the Big 4 consulting firms across multiple jurisdictions.



Brett Horton

Brett Horton is Stewart Title’s Counsel & Director Commercial Business Development for British Columbia. Prior to joining Stewart Title in 2013, he operated his own law firm providing commercial and real estate services. Brett is current co-chair of the Canadian Bar Association Vancouver Real Estate Section, and is an executive member of the Risk Manager’s Association Fraser Valley Chapter.
