Derek Townsend

Now an owner and principal, Derek started his career with Citifund Capital in 2012, centering his business around rental apartment financing. He arranges debt and equity for all asset classes but specializes in CMHC insured, purpose built rental, conventional and bridge financing for rental apartments. Derek has arranged over $4.5bn in debt financing over his tenure and has become a leading expert in the rental apartment sector with clients ranging from private investors to REITs. Beyond structuring debt, Derek is a dedicated volunteer in the industry and community. He is an active board member with UDI U40, LandlordBC and Canadian Federation of Apartment Associations

AJ Delisle

Vice President, Real Estate

RBC Royal Bank

As Vice President of Real Estate for RBC Royal Bank in British Columbia, AJ Delisle leads a team of real estate experts dedicated to providing financial advice and services to developers, investors and community builders across the province. AJ joined RBC as a Commercial Account Manager in Business Financial Services in 2009. Four years later, he moved to the Real Estate team, progressing from a Financing Specialist to a Senior Commercial Account Manager and then to a Director. In 2020, he was appointed Community Manager of the Victoria Core market, overseeing the operations and business development of three retail branches. He returned to Vancouver to lead the Real Estate team in 2021. AJ earned his MBA from the UBC Sauder School of Business and his BComm from the University of Northern British Columbia. He is a CPA, CMA and CFP. In 2019, AJ received the Leo Award, RBC’s most prestigious honour. AJ is also a passionate community volunteer. He has twice been a cabinet member for RBC’s annual BC Employee Giving Campaign. Additionally, AJ participates in the annual RBC Race for the Kids fundraiser for BC Children’s Hospital Foundation, and has personally raised more than $58,000 since 2020.



Matt Muir

Vice President, Commercial Real Estate

Matt Muir is the VP of Commercial Real Estate at Coast Capital Savings and leads a 30 person team spread across locations in Vancouver, Richmond, Surrey and Victoria.  A graduate of UBC’s Sauder School of Business, Matt spent time working in appraisal, brokerage, and land acquisitions before moving into banking and commercial lending with TD Bank, and now Coast Capital.

Coast Capital’s real estate group provides both term,  (including CMHC) land and construction financing across all asset types, with loan exposure of approximately $5B spread throughout BC, as well as major urban markets across Canada.

Franca Cerqueti

Vice President & Managing Director Western Canada

Franca Cerqueti has always had a passion for finance, real estate and meeting people. She currently holds the position VP & Managing Director Western Canada at CMLS Financial, a Commercial Mortgage Lending Services company that was established in 1974 in Vancouver, B.C. She currently oversees BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and has significant growth plans with her region poised to fund $3 Billion in mortgage transactions this year.

Franca specializes in origination and leading a team that provides creative and unique credit structures for commercial real estate financing on a variety of assets classes for privately owned development and real estate investment companies. She has over 25 years experience in commercial real estate financing across Western Canada and has extensive background in construction (CMHC and conventional), development, bridge and long-term financing for mid-large developers and investors.

Franca holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree (Finance) from University of Manitoba. Franca was born and raised in Winnipeg and loves her city and the lifestyle it offers with her husband and twins. She spends her time volunteering on Boards, mentoring young females in financing, organizing events, curling, and travelling.
